A very special visit for Paul

W.Bro. Paul Lamb of Southport Mark Lodge No. 473 had a very special visitor to his home recently. It was none other than Provincial Grand Master, Brother Peter Connolly accompanied by W.Bro. Brian Molyneux PGJO and fellow Mark Lodge brethren, W.Bro. Colin Jenkins, Southport Group Chairman and W.Bro. Chris Hamilton PPrGReg.

This special occasion was organised so that Paul could receive, from Peter, his recent promotion to PPrGJD.

Paul has made a fantastic contribution to Masonry In both West and East Lancashire over many years but of late has not been too well. It was looking inevitable that Paul would not be able to make it to Provincial Grand Lodge in May and certainly not be able to sit through the full ceremony.

Refreshments arrive!
Hearing this news, Peter was only too pleased to fit a visit to Paul's home into his very busy schedule. Close neighbours, Bro. Paul Hardman of Freshfield Mark Lodge No 1007 and his wife, Mary, were also on hand to help with organising the event and supplying refreshments.

After an informal opening of Provincial Grand Lodge, Peter invited Jean Lamb and Mary Hardman into the room and proceeded to relate the wonderful contributions and achievements that Paul has made to Masonry over the years, particularly within the Southport Group. He noted that Paul’s promotion had been so well deserved and congratulated him after presenting him with his Collar and certificate from Provincial Grand Lodge. The award was warmly greeted by all present after which followed an informal champagne social celebration.

All agreed that this had been a very happy and joyous occasion, which we know was very much appreciated by Paul.

A great thanks goes out to our Provincial Grand Master for taking time out to make this such a special day for Paul and many congratulations to Paul on his promotion. We all wish him well and a speedy recovery.
